## Hazard maps and local notifications

**HazardWatch**

NSW · Reviewed 14 Oct 2026

## Evacuation centres

**NSW SES evacuation centres**

**Important:** Centres open only during emergencies and status changes. Follow evacuation instructions immediately; check routes via Live Traffic. For fires, consult NSW RFS as directed by the page.

[Open official resource — NSW SES evacuation centres](https://www.ses.nsw.gov.au/during-an-emergency/evacuation-centres)

Centres and safe routes change. Do not travel to an assumed centre based on an old screenshot, saved copy or this directory. Follow current emergency-service directions.

## Understand warning levels

The NSW emergency hub explains three levels: **Advice**, **Watch and Act**, and **Emergency Warning**. Read the action statement, not just the colour or level. Different hazards and locations require different actions.

## Do not rely on one channel

Use relevant agency websites and apps and local emergency broadcasts. Power, mobile coverage and internet access can fail. Follow [Get Ready NSW](https://www.nsw.gov.au/emergency/get-ready) to prepare communication backups.
